24 Hour 3 Peak Challenge

24 Hour 3 Peak Challenge

On 22nd January 2022, Richard Oxley, the founder and creative director of Oxley undertook the 3 Peak Challenge, climbing the three highest mountains in the United Kingdom within a 24-hour window for charity. Alongside a crew composed of his brother and strangers with the same passion to undertake this adventure, the group set off at dawn to climb Ben Nevis in Scotland, followed by Scaffell Pike in England at night and Mount Snowdon in Wales at dawn the next day.

Completing this notoriously difficult hike in a commendable 22 hours and 42 minutes, Oxley raised money for The Running Charity and Hardest - two non-profit organisations aimed at supporting those struggling with mental health issues, especially young adults.

With values that resonate with the founder, someone who has personally struggled with similar problems after completing his degree at London's Central Saint Martins and found relief through running, this challenge reflects the foundation of which the brand Oxley is built upon - finding your calm within the chaos. Whilst undertaking this demanding challenge across the country, Oxley and his crew debuted the latest instalment in the brand's repertoire, The Oxley Shell Jacket.

Originally conceived soon after graduating, he realised the lack of durable outerwear that aligned with the requirements of his new passion for the outdoor sports and his history in fashion, marking the beginnings of this new piece launching four years after his initial dream.

Designed to be wearable all-year round through every weather condition, the lightweight, fully waterproof layer is made from a sustainable mix of Sequal, a material crafted from recycled ocean plastics, and polyester, ensuring the balance of maintaining the body's heat with the need for ventilation. Protecting all the participants against the harsh conditions of the three peaks, the Oxley Shell has been successfully tried and tested proving to be the physical manifestation of what the style conscious adventurer needs.
